What is consignment?

Here at Sacred Spaces Consignment we market and display your gently used items for you in our store. Your items will have a 60 day sales period. Once your item sells, you receive a portion of the sale as store credit or cash!

Consignment is a great way to make some cash from items you would otherwise donate or get rid of. It's also useful for those who don't want to deal with selling items themselves.

Please note we do not buy your items from you upfront.

What items can I bring in for consignment?

We accept:

  • Women's, Men's and Children's clothes, footwear and accessories
  • Jewellery
  • Housewares
  • Dishes
  • Home decor
  • Linens
  • Artwork and picture frames
  • Toys, puzzles, books
  • Vinyl records
  • Collectibles
  • Vintage and antique items
  • Furniture (please discuss large furniture items with us before bringing them in store)

Please bring in season items (eg. shorts in spring/summer, parkas in fall/winter).

To give your items the best chance of selling please ensure they are clean with no signs of wear, stains, rips or smells.

What items don't you want?

We don't accept clothes with scents, stains or damage. We also don't accept out of season item as they don't have a good chance of selling.

To keep a high quality of items in our store there are certain fast fashion brands we don't accept due to quality and low resale value:

  • Shein

  • Lily Morgan
  • MyStyle
  • Warehouse One
  • Nobo
  • Nygard
  • Tanjay
  • Distressed, stretchy skinny jeans
  • Scrubs

When can i bring in my items?

Walk in during business hours! Please review our consignment agreement beforehand

Existing consignors can use our "Drop & Run" service. Bring us 25 items or less during business hours and we will donate items that we don't accept on your behalf.

How do you price items?

We use consignment software to price items according to their market value based on brand, condition and relevance. These prices are guided by what customers are willing to pay for consigned items.

At our store, items remain at their starting price for 30 days and then reduce over time. After 30 days prices reduce by 20% and after 45 days prices reduce by 30%. This helps sell older inventory and keep our store fresh with new, exciting items!

How much will I make from consignment?

It depends! Consignors receive a percentage of the sale when their item sells. This percentage depends upon the items price.

  • For items from $1-99: consignor receives 40%
  • For items from $100-199: consignor receives 45%
  • For items from $200-399: consignor receives 50%
  • For items over $400: consignor receives 60%

How do I know whether my items have sold?

Once your items are inventoried use your email address to login to "My Portal" and view your personal dashboard. Here you can track your active items and watch as your items sell! You can also see the upload date for your items and your consignment balance.

Please note your expiry date is 60 days from your upload date.

How do I get paid once my items sell?

Your consignment balance is available to use as store credit at any time! Save an extra 10% with your store credit.

Once your 60 day consignment period is over you can visit us in store to receive a cash payout or contact us for an EMT or cheque payout.

Can I take back my items once they expire?

After the 60 day period:

  • Unsold items priced under $50 become property of Sacred Spaces Consignment 
  • Unsold items priced over $50, may be picked up within 3 business days of the expiry date. (After 3 days all items become property of Sacred Spaces Consignment and may be resold or donated.)
  • It is the consignor's responsibility to know their expiry date and come pick up their items if desired
  • Your expiry date is 60 days from your item's upload date. Login to "My Portal" for more information.

Please keep in mind we have over 400 consignors so this method helps us keep inventory moving and making space for new items!

Will you email me?

No we won't email you! We don't send updates about your balance or expiry date.

You can use your email address to login to "My Portal" and track your items, expiry date and balance.

Online Shopping FAQs

Shipping

We ship across Canada. Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.

We offer free in-store pickup from our store in Dryden, Ontario. Select store pick-up from shipping options at checkout.

Returns

We do not offer returns on orders. ALL ITEMS ARE FINAL SALE.

As we sell secondhand items, please review all pictures to confirm condition before purchase.
